The 12 SEries
The Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) 12 Series is a holistic approach to bringing greater ease and postural balance to an individual. The sessions are not meant to address symptoms directly, but instead, provide for greater equanimity and an opportunity for self-healing to be realized.
The importance of the number "12," as in twelve sessions, is that over the course of the series, a human body has the ability to make a transformative change. This is an intelligent system, and it can process information it receives through touch almost immediately, however, it takes time for the integration of this new-found data. The design of the series is crucial for achieving optimal results. The first four sessions address the superficial layers, the next four are dedicated to the core, and the last four focus on integration. Structural patterns are established over many years and are developed in layers both superficial and deep. It is important to address the superficial patterns first so that we can resolve the deeper holding patterns at the core. After completing 12 sessions of structural integration, greater stability and alignment can be achieved -- but of equal importance, one may experience a deeper sense of self-awareness, both physically and emotionally.
Session 1: Open the Superficial Front Line
- Bring lift and vitality to tissues of the Superficial Front Line
- Differentiate the roots of the front arm lines
Session 2: Open the Superficial Back Line
- Grounding / "standing on your own two feet"
- Sagittal balance via primary and secondary curves
- Differentiate roots of the back arm lines
Session 3: Open the Lateral Lines
- Opening the body's sides / "spreading the wings"
- Balancing of the body's stability system
Session 4: Open and Balance the Two Spiral Lines
- Easing restrictions in superficial rotation
- Setting the balance of the scapular X
Session 5: Core Release of the Lower Deep Front Line
- Build support and lift in the inner leg
- Support the organs from below
Session 6: Core Release of the Central Deep Front Line
- Release the deeper breath
- Free the movement of the diaphragm
- Provide for appropriate span in the lumbars
Session 7: Open the Deep Back Line
- Balance the deep lateral rotators and sacral movement
- Ease spinal bends and rotations
Session 8: Putting the Head on Straight (optional intra-nasal and intra-oral work)
- Open the jaw and viscero-cranium
- Free the superficial neck
Session 9: Integrating the Lower Girdle
- Balance the lower body around its new core
- Three-dimensional movement in the pelvis
Session 10: Integrating the Torso and the Breath
- Integrate breathing with the rest of the body
- Create rib / pelvis balance through the 4 pillars
Session 11: Integrating the Shoulders and the Arms
- Balance the shoulders over the ribs
- Ease and fine tune the arm position
Session 12: Balancing the Lines and the Joint Tissues
- Balance the tissues across the joints
- Set future goals
